In a tune-up game for the playoffs, the Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry defeated the
Buffalo Stampede, 156-101 on fan appreciation night at the Koessler Center in Buffalo, NY.
Rebounding was a major key in the game, as the Cavalry outrebounded the Stampede by 66-43, resulting in a 30-point advantage in the paint.
Brandon Dean led the Cavalry, the highest seed in the upcoming PBL playoffs, with 31 points. Tim Ellis added 27 and Rashad Woods chipped in with 25 off the bench.
Corey Herring led the Stampede with 25 points and 9 rebounds. Mike Norwood added 19, and Tihon Johnson had 13 points and 4 steals as their second season ended with a 3-17 record, a two game improvement over the previous year. The Stampede would like to thank their fans for all the support this season and look forward to next year. The Stampede players will be out in the community during the off-season.
